Ingredients
- Beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced: 1 pound
- Noodles (udon, ramen, or spaghetti): 8 ounces
- Soy sauce: 1/2 cup
- Mirin: 1/4 cup
- Brown sugar: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic, minced: 2 cloves
- Ginger, grated: 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil: 1 tablespoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the teriyaki sauce by whisking together soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a bowl. Set aside.
- Step 2: Cook the noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Step 3: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes.
- Step 4: Pour the teriyaki sauce over the beef and cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
- Step 5: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the beef and teriyaki sauce. Toss to coat the noodles evenly.
- Step 6: Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds or chopped green onions, if desired.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of water if the noodles seem dry.
- Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for added flavor and texture.
- For extra tender beef, marinate the sliced sirloin in half of the teriyaki sauce for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
