Ingredients
- Ground beef: 1 pound
- Taco seasoning: 1 packet
- Cheddar cheese, shredded: 2 cups
- Flour tortillas (large): 6
- Onion, chopped: 1/2 cup
- Tomato, diced: 1 medium
- Lettuce, shredded: 1 cup
- Ketchup: 1/4 cup
Instructions
- Step 1: Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Step 2: Stir in the taco seasoning according to package directions. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Step 3: Lay a tortilla flat. Sprinkle half of the tortilla with 1/4 of the cheese, 1/4 of the beef mixture, 1/4 of the onion and 1/4 of the tomato.
- Step 4: Fold the tortilla in half.
- Step 5: Cook the quesadilla in a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Step 6: Cut each quesadilla into wedges. Serve immediately with lettuce and ketchup for dipping.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding a thin layer of mustard to the tortilla before layering the other ingredients.
- Store leftover quesadillas in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat quesadillas in a dry skillet or toaster oven to maintain crispness.
