Delicious cheesy baked ziti recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Cook ziti according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Step 2: While pasta is cooking, brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease. Stir in marinara sauce and oregano; simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Step 3: In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese, and egg. Mix well.
  4. Step 4: In a large baking dish, combine cooked ziti, meat sauce, and ricotta cheese mixture. Toss gently to combine.
  5. Step 5: Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and remaining 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese.
  6. Step 6: Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly and the dish is heated through. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For easier slicing, let the baked ziti cool slightly before cutting and serving.
  • Reheat individual portions in the microwave for a quick and satisfying lunch.
  • Store leftover baked ziti in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat sauce while simmering.
