Delicious cherry amaretto tiramisu recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Ladyfingers: 24
  • Mascarpone cheese: 16 ounces
  • Heavy cream: 1 cup
  • Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup
  • Amaretto liqueur: 1/4 cup, plus more for soaking
  • Strong brewed coffee, cooled: 1 cup
  • Cherry preserves: 1/2 cup
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder: 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a medium bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, and sugar until smooth and slightly thickened. Stir in the 1/4 cup of Amaretto liqueur.
  2. Step 2: Lightly brush both sides of the ladyfingers with Amaretto liqueur. Be careful not to saturate them.
  3. Step 3: Spread a thin layer of mascarpone mixture in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Step 4: Dip each Amaretto-soaked ladyfinger in the cooled coffee briefly, then arrange them in a single layer over the mascarpone cream.
  5. Step 5: Spread half of the cherry preserves over the ladyfingers, then top with half of the remaining mascarpone mixture. Repeat layers with the remaining ladyfingers, coffee, cherry preserves, and mascarpone mixture.
  6. Step 6: Cover the tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.

Notes

  • For the best flavor, let the assembled tiramisu chill overnight to allow the coffee and Amaretto to fully infuse the ladyfingers.
  • Store leftover tiramisu, tightly covered, in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • A dollop of whipped cream and a fresh cherry make a lovely garnish and add a touch of elegance to each serving.
  • When soaking the ladyfingers, a light brushing of Amaretto is key; avoid over-saturating them to prevent a soggy tiramisu.
