Ingredients
- Chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), 15-20 cookies
- Cream cheese, 4 ounces, softened
- Powdered sugar, 1/4 cup
- Heavy cream, 1 cup
- Green food coloring, few drops
- Chocolate pudding cups, 4 individual cups
- Gummy worms, 1 package
- Black sprinkles, 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Step 1: Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs. You can use a food processor or place them in a resealable bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
- Step 2: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
- Step 3: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture. Add a few drops of green food coloring and mix until you achieve the desired "Beetlejuice" green color.
- Step 4: Assemble the trifles: In small, clear cups or glasses, layer cookie crumbs, then a spoonful of chocolate pudding, followed by a spoonful of the green cream cheese mixture. Repeat layers as desired, ending with cookie crumbs on top.
- Step 5: Decorate the trifles: Arrange gummy worms on top to resemble worms crawling out of the "dirt." Sprinkle with black sprinkles.
- Step 6: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together. Enjoy your ghoulishly fun Beetlejuice mini trifles!
Notes
- Store assembled trifles in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, but the cookie crumbs might soften slightly over time.
- These trifles are best served chilled, so no reheating is necessary or recommended.
- Serve these spooky trifles with small spoons so everyone can enjoy each creepy layer.
- For an extra eerie touch, add a tiny drop of peppermint extract to the green cream cheese mixture for a subtle, surprising flavor.
