Delicious heavenly summer peach bars recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 1 1/2 cups
  • Rolled oats: 1 cup
  • Brown sugar: 3/4 cup, packed
  • Baking soda: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Unsalted butter: 3/4 cup, cold and cubed
  • Fresh peaches: 4 medium, peeled and sliced
  • Granulated sugar: 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Step 3: Press half of the oat mixture firmly into the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, gently toss the sliced peaches with the granulated sugar. Arrange the peaches evenly over the crust.
  5. Step 5: Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture evenly over the peaches.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are tender. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for longer freshness.
  • A quick warm-up in the microwave for 15-20 seconds will make the peaches extra gooey and delicious.
  • Serve these bars slightly warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra heavenly treat.
  • For easier slicing, chill the bars in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes after they have cooled to room temperature.
