Ingredients
- Ground beef: 1 pound
- Refrigerated pie crust: 1 (14.1 ounce) package
- Shredded cheddar cheese: 2 cups
- Onion, chopped: 1/2 cup
- Milk: 1/2 cup
- Eggs: 2 large
- Ketchup: 2 tablespoons
- Yellow mustard: 1 tablespoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Brown ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat, drain off any excess grease.
- Step 2: Press pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate. Crimp the edges.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, combine cooked ground beef mixture, 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, milk, eggs, ketchup, and mustard. Mix well.
- Step 4: Pour the beef mixture into the prepared pie crust.
- Step 5: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese over the top of the pie.
- Step 6: Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and the filling is set. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Store leftover cheeseburger pie, tightly covered, in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat individual slices in the microwave or oven until warmed through.
- Serve with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of chopped pickles for added zest.
- For extra flavor, sauté a finely diced green bell pepper with the onion when browning the ground beef.
