Ingredients
- Ground beef: 1.5 pounds
- Mashed potatoes: 6 cups (prepared)
- Shredded cheddar cheese: 2 cups
- Bacon: 8 slices, cooked and crumbled
- Onion: 1 medium, chopped
- Cream of mushroom soup: 1 can (10.75 ounces)
- Milk: 1/4 cup
- Worcestershire sauce: 1 tablespoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
- Step 2: Press the meat mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Step 3: Spread the prepared mashed potatoes evenly over the meat mixture.
- Step 4: Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.
- Step 5: Top with the cooked and crumbled bacon and then the remaining shredded cheddar cheese.
- Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until heated through and cheese is melted and bubbly. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For best results, reheat individual portions in the microwave or oven until warmed through.
- Serve with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of fresh chives for extra flavor.
- To prevent a dry meatloaf, mix in a beaten egg with the ground beef mixture for added moisture.
