Ingredients
- Manwich Sauce: 2 (15 ounce) cans
- Ground Beef: 1 pound
- Onion, chopped: 1/2 medium
- Cheddar Cheese, shredded: 2 cups
- Tater Tots: 32 ounces (frozen)
- Cream of Mushroom Soup: 1 (10.75 ounce) can
- Milk: 1/2 cup
- Garlic powder: 1/2 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Step 2: Stir in the Manwich sauce and garlic powder into the ground beef mixture. Simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Step 3: In a separate bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Mix well.
- Step 4: Spread the ground beef mixture evenly into a 9×13 inch baking dish. Pour the cream of mushroom soup mixture over the ground beef.
- Step 5: Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cream of mushroom soup mixture.
- Step 6: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the tater tots. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For best results, reheat individual portions in the microwave or oven until heated through, being careful not to overcook the tater tots.
- Serve with a dollop of sour cream or a sprinkle of fresh parsley for added flavor and visual appeal.
- To prevent soggy tater tots, consider partially baking them before assembling the casserole.
