Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chiles, undrained
- 1 (8 ounce) package shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 (11 ounce) bag Doritos, crushed
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Step 2: Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease. Stir in taco seasoning according to package directions.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, and diced tomatoes and green chiles. Mix well.
- Step 4: Spread half of the crushed Doritos in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Pour the ground beef mixture over the Doritos.
- Step 5: Top with the remaining crushed Doritos and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Step 6: Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Garnish with sour cream and green onions before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, but be warned the Doritos will soften over time.
- For best results, reheat individual portions in the microwave or in a skillet to help the Doritos regain some crispness.
- Serve with a side of guacamole and your favorite hot sauce for an extra kick!
- To prevent soggy Doritos, consider adding a layer of refried beans between the bottom chips and the beef mixture.
