Ingredients
- Cream cheese, softened: 8 ounces
- Unsalted butter, softened: 1/2 cup (1 stick)
- Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup
- All-purpose flour: 1 1/2 cups
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
- Oreo cookies, crushed: 1 1/2 cups
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and fluffy. Beat in the granulated sugar until well combined.
- Step 3: Stir in the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 4: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies.
- Step 5: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each cookie.
- Step 6: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Store cooled cookies in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain their cheesecake-like texture.
- A quick zap in the microwave (5-10 seconds) will make these cookies extra gooey and delicious.
- Serve these cookies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent dessert experience.
- For a more pronounced Oreo flavor, reserve a few coarsely crushed cookies to sprinkle on top before baking.
