Delicious poison apple fudge recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 7 ounces marshmallow creme
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon green food coloring
  • 1/4 teaspoon apple flavoring

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Grease and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. Step 2: In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Step 3: Once boiling, continue to cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning. Use a candy thermometer to ensure the mixture reaches 235°F (soft-ball stage).
  4. Step 4: Remove from heat and quickly stir in the chocolate chips, marshmallow creme, vanilla extract, green food coloring, and apple flavoring until everything is melted and smooth.
  5. Step 5: Pour the fudge into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Step 6: Let cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge out of the pan for easy cutting.

Notes

  • For best flavor and texture, store your Poison Apple Fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • If you want a gooey bite, microwave individual fudge squares for just 5-10 seconds, but watch carefully to prevent melting.
  • Serve this wickedly good fudge chilled, cut into small, bite-sized squares for a spooky treat that's easy to enjoy.
  • To intensify the apple flavor, a pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg complements the apple extract beautifully.
