Ingredients
- Cooked White Rice: 2 cups
- Sirloin Steak, thinly sliced: 1 pound
- Onion, sliced: 1 medium
- Green Bell Pepper, sliced: 1 medium
- Provolone Cheese, sliced: 4 ounces
- Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
- Soy Sauce: 1 tablespoon
- Black Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
- Step 2: Add sliced onion and green bell pepper to the same skillet. Cook until softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- Step 3: Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir in the soy sauce and black pepper. Cook for another minute to combine flavors.
- Step 4: Reduce heat to low. Stir in the cooked rice and mix well, ensuring the rice is heated through and coated with the steak and vegetable mixture.
- Step 5: Top the mixture with provolone cheese slices. Cover the skillet and allow the cheese to melt, about 1-2 minutes.
- Step 6: Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For best results, reheat individual portions in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of water or broth to prevent drying.
- Garnish with chopped green onions or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for added flavor and visual appeal.
- Don't overcrowd the skillet when browning the steak; cook in batches to ensure even cooking and avoid steaming.
