Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 medium jalapeños, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped jalapeños and sauté for about 3 minutes until they are softened.
- Step 2: Add the ground beef to the skillet with the jalapeños. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until it is browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
- Step 3: Once the beef is cooked, drain any excess fat from the skillet. Then, stir in the brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are combined.
- Step 4: Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is heated through and slightly caramelized.
- Step 5: Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving. Enjoy your Sweet Jalapeño Beef!
Notes
- For optimal freshness, store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- When reheating, warm the Sweet Jalapeño Beef in a skillet over low heat to retain its flavor and moisture, adding a splash of water if necessary.
- Serve this dish over steamed rice or in taco shells for a delightful twist, and don't forget to top it with extra cilantro or avocado for added flavor.
- For an extra kick, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes during cooking to enhance the spiciness of the jalapeños!
