Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup finely chopped sweet jalapeños (seeds removed)
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
- Step 2: Add the minced garlic and finely chopped sweet jalapeños to the skillet, cooking for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Step 3: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
- Step 4: Stir in the brown sugar and soy sauce, mixing well to combine all ingredients. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes until heated through and slightly thickened.
- Step 5: Season with black pepper to taste. Serve hot as a filling for tacos, burritos, or over rice. Enjoy your Sweet Jalapeno Beef!
Notes
- For optimal freshness, store leftover Sweet Jalapeno Beef in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- When reheating, warm it gently on the stovetop over low heat to maintain the flavor and texture, or microwave in short intervals, stirring frequently.
- This dish is fantastic served as a filling for soft tacos or burritos, and you can also try it over a bed of rice for a hearty meal.
- To enhance the sweetness and spice balance, consider adding a splash of lime juice just before serving; it elevates the flavors beautifully!
