- Vanilla Ice Cream: 4 scoops
- Milk: 1/2 cup
- Black Food Coloring (gel): 1/2 teaspoon or as needed to achieve desired color
- Oreo Cookies: 3, crushed
- Whipped Cream: To garnish
- Chocolate Syrup: To drizzle
- Black Sprinkles: To garnish
- Maraschino Cherries: To garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Combine vanilla ice cream and milk in a blender.
- Step 2: Blend until smooth and creamy. Add more milk if needed to reach desired consistency.
- Step 3: Add black food coloring and blend until the milkshake is a consistent black color. Start with 1/2 teaspoon and add more gradually until you reach the desired shade.
- Step 4: Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies.
- Step 5: Pour the milkshake into a glass.
- Step 6: Top with whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate syrup, black sprinkles, and a maraschino cherry if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftover milkshake in an airtight container in the freezer, but be aware it will require re-blending to regain its smooth texture.
- Since reheating isn't ideal, consider using the frozen milkshake in ice cream based smoothies.
- Serve your spooky shake in a clear glass to showcase the dramatic black color, and add a Halloween-themed straw for extra flair!
- Chef's tip: For a deeper black, use black cocoa powder in addition to the food coloring, which will also enhance the chocolate flavor.
